Delicious dining in the heart of Utrecht

Welcome to the Restaurant Orkide in the heart of the lively and multicultural neighborhood of Lombok. Our grandfather immigrated here in 1962 and in 1979 our hardworking father, Mehmet Öz, founded this company. In this location he began with a tea house with only a small kitchen. From 1989 he served mostly specialty sandwiches and kebabs. The Restaurant Orkide has always been family operated. Mehmet Öz has passed away but he would have been just as proud of our business as we are of him.

Halal and Fresh

After the reorganization and renovation we are now proud to present our new concept. We offer a breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night menu. We have something for every taste, including delicious fish, meat, chicken, and vegetarian dishes. And everything is Halal and fresh. At other sandwich shops the average Muslim orders nothing beyond a cheese or fish sandwich, because the rest of the menu items and their fillings are not Halal. But everything here is, making Restaurant Orkide unique in Utrecht!

We prepare everything with Turkish passion and hospitality and let ourselves be influenced by all the surprises our neighboring countries have to offer. We set high standards for ourselves and the quality of our menu. That is why we work with the best suppliers in Europe and a small Halal poultry butcher in Utrecht.
